Registration

How do I sign up for Peer Language?

  • If you don't have a Peer Language account, you can sign up for one in a few steps:

    1. Go to www.peerlanguage.com.
    2. You can use the registration button on the page above right corner.
    3. If you see the registration form, fill out your email address and password.
    4. If you don't see the form, click registration, then fill out the form.
    5. Click registration.

    Once you sign up, you'll need to confirm your email address.

How do I complete the sign up process and confirm my email address?

  • To complete the sign up process, we need to confirm that you own the email address you used to set up the account. Confirm your email address by opening the link in the email we sent you when you signed up.

Why did I receive a confirmation email from Peer Language?

  • When you sign up for a Peer Language account or add a new email address to your existing account, Peer Language will send you an email. This way, we can make sure that your own email address connected to your account. To confirm this, all you need to do is click on the link in the email.

    If you didn't sign up for a Peer Language account and received a confirmation email please contact our Customer Service.

What will happen to my account if I don't confirm my email address?

  • Under the registration process, you can use your account without confirming your email address for three days. After three days, you won't be able to use your account until you complete this step. 

    If you've changed your email address, your new email activation only one day. After one day, you won't be able to use your account until you complete this step. 

How old do you have to be to sign up for Peer Language?

  • To be eligible to sign up for Peer Language, you must be at least 14 years old.

How do I sign in to my Peer Language account?

  • Go to the top of www.peerlanguage.com and enter one of the following:

    • Email address
    • Password

    If you want sign in to Peer Language for your Facebook account, you need use the Sign in with Facebook button.

    If you want sign in to Peer Language for your Twitter account, you need use the Sign in with Twitter button.

How do I sign out of Peer Language?

  • Click at the top right of any Peer Language page and select Sign Out icon.

I'm unable to sign in. What should I do?

  • Please check if you have cookies activated in your browser. Also, try to use the password reminder in case of a typo (mistake). Click on the 'Forgot your password?' option on the main page when you are about to sign in. Please contact the Customer Service if you are still experiencing this problem.

Can I create a joint Peer Language account or share a Peer Language account with someone else?

  • We don't allow joint accounts. Additionally, you can only sign up for one Peer Language account per email address. Since each account belongs to one person, we require everyone to use their authentic name on their account. This way you always know who you're connecting with.

I would like sign in with my Facebook account.

  • You need sign in Facebook and after you need accept Peer Language application.

Password & e-mail settings

I forgot my password. What should I do?

  • Please use the password reminder. Click on the 'Forgot your password?' option on the main page when you are about to sign in.

How can I change my password?

    1. Sign in to Peer Language.
    2. Click settings icon on right side next to the name and choose 'Edit my profile'
    3. Click the "change password" option in the Default section.
    4. Don't forget save your modification.

How do I reset my password?

  • If you can't log into Peer Language and need to reset your password:

    1. Go to the login page at www.peerlanguage.com
    2. Click the sign in button and click 'Forgot your password?' link.
    3. Type your email address and click the send password button.
    4. We will send you an email with a temporary password.
    5. Please follow the email instructions.

I'm not receiving the email to reset my password.

  • If you requested a new password but didn't receive your password-reset email:

    1. Check the spam or junk mail folder in your email account.
    2. Try to reset your password again.
    3. If you still don't receive the email after requesting a password reset, wait 24 hours and try again.
    4. If you’re still not receiving your password-reset email after the trying the steps above, contact your Internet Service Provider to make sure they’re not blocking email traffic coming from Peer Language.
    5. Contact our Customer Service.

How can I change my email address?

    1. Sign in to Peer Language.
    2. Click settings icon on right side next to the name and choose 'Edit my profile'.
    3. 'Click the "change email address" option in the Default section.
    4. Don't forget save your modification.

     

    We'll send a confirmation email to your new email address. Click the confirmation link in that email to confirm your account.
    Note: When you confirm the new email address, we'll replace the old email address you originally signed up with on your account.

I accidentally signed up using the wrong email address. How can I fix this?

  • To correct your email address:

    1. Sign in to Peer Language.
    2. Click settings icon on right side next to the name and choose 'Edit my profile'.
    3. 'Click the "change email address" option in the Default section.
    4. Don't forget save your modification.

     

    We'll send a confirmation email to your new email address. Click the confirmation link in that email to confirm your account.
    Note: When you confirm the new email address, we'll replace the incorrect address you originally signed up with on your account.

     

Notifications

I don’t want to get notifications.

    1. Sign in to Peer Language.
    2. Click settings icon on right side next to the name and choose 'Email settings'
    3. Don't forget save your modification.

About

How can I change my information for myself on Profile?

  • Go to the "Profile" and choose the section where you want change something and click the "Edit" option. Do not forget save after you have finished.

How do I customize the web address for my Profile Page?

  • You can customize the web address for your profile or your Page by choosing a profile name. To get started, go to Profile/About section and click the Edit button.
    Under the Default section you can write a profile name.

What are usernames?

  • Usernames and User IDs are part of your Public profile. We use this information to help people find you and to organize your information internally.

    We use your username to create a custom profile link (a Peer Language URL, such as www.peerlanguage.com/profilename) to your profile that you can give out to people or post on external websites. Though Usernames are not the same as your name or Page name, they are typically variations on your name.

How can I add a language?

  • Visit your 'Profile - Languages' section and click the 'Add language' button.

How can I modify my sublanguage?

  • Go to the "Profile - Languages" section. Choose the language and click the edit button on right side and choose your new sublanguage.
    Don't forget save after you have finished.

How can I use the language filter?

  • There are roughly 6,500 spoken languages in the world today and you have chance practice a couple thousand extinct languages, sign languages or fantasy languages on Peer Language. Some languages have more than one accepted "name", so try to find more than one version. If you haven't find it contact our Customer Service.

    Go to the "Profile" and choose 'Languages' section and click the "Add Language" button.

    Choose a category and a main language. If you've chosen you can set up the sublanguage.

What does it mean the 'Language - Level'?

  • Language level shows your communication ability. 

    Our Levels:

    Beginner: Can understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases aimed at the satisfaction of needs of a concrete type. Can introduce him/herself and others and can ask and answer questions about personal details such as where he/she lives, people he/she knows and things he/she has. Can interact in a simple way provided the other person talks slowly and clearly and is prepared to help.

    Intermediate: Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment). Can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters. Can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need.

    Advanced: Can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc. Can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst travelling in an area where the language is spoken. Can produce simple connected text on topics which are familiar or of personal interest. Can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes & ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans.

    Fluent: Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialisation. Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party. Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.

    Native: A person who has spoken the language in question from earliest childhood.

    Business: Can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognise implicit meaning. Can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions. Can use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. Can produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organisational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices.

    Academic: Can understand with ease virtually everything heard or read. Can summarise information from different spoken and written sources, reconstructing arguments and accounts in a coherent presentation. Can express him/herself spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in the most complex situations.

Do I need set up the 'Goal' section?

  • It isn't necessary, but we really recommend if you want achieve your goals.

What does it mean the 'Level Score'?

  • Level score shows your activity on every type of language. If you use the Peer Exchange communication system, every minutes counted as a point.

    The Level Score help you analysis your goals and progression.

How can I deactivate a language?

  • Go to the "Profile - Languages" section. Choose the language and click the edit button on right side and choose Deactivate language option.

Can I add one more same main language with different sublanguage?

  • Yes. You can add one more same main language, if the sublanguage is different.

Can I add one more same 'main language - sublanguage' combination but different Level?

  • No. You can add only one same 'main language - sublanguage' combination and you need set up your personal highest Level. If you want, you can set up different Fee - Level combination under the Fees section.

Why do I need sublanguage?

  • Some language really popular on all over the world, but a little different when they speak. Example the english almost the most popular language in the world, but it has a little different in United States, United Kingdom or Australia, and so on. We try give a chance if you know your sublanguage fill up. Some of our Members wants practice a specific sublanguage.

Business Cards

What does it mean 'Business Cards' section?

  • You can set up your fees under the 'Business Cards' section. We have created your Business Cards from your saved language card(s). You can change the fBusiness Cards or you can create any Business Cards type with any topic and fee. You need at least one Business Cards card for every language on you saved. When another peer Members call you, we charge them for your saved fee. 

What does it mean 'Service Fee'?

  • We use 'Service Fee' when another Members call you and you make Peer Coin income. The service fee charge your traffic by percentage. When your fee is free the service fee is also free. You can check your actual service fee under the 'Subscription' menu. You can reach discount any time just you follow in the 'Affiliate'  advices.

How can I deactivate a Business Card?

  • Go to the "Profile - Business Cards" section. Choose the Business Card and click the edit button on right side and choose Deactivate option.

  • Go to the "Profile - Business Cards" section. Choose the Business Card and click the edit button on right side and choose Activate  option.

Why I can't delete a 'Business Card' forever?

  • We have responsibility to show 'Credits History' statement from your registration date. If you delete your Business Card forever may be you can not check the older 'Credits History' statement. 

Can I delete or change the Default Business Cards?

  • Yes. You can change the Business Cards or you can create any Business Cards type with any topic and fee. You need at least one Business Cards for every language on you saved. 

Can I setup more types of fee for same language and / or different 'Levels'?

  • Yes. We really recommend you, setup up more types of fee for same language and / or different 'Levels'. Our members find different topic, levels and so on. If you have more types of fee you have bigger chance you will be listed on Members search list.

Why I have a 'Default Business Card' when I've added a new language?

  • We have created your Business Card(s) from your saved language card(s). You need at least one Business Cards for every language on you saved. You can change the Business Cards or you can create any Business Cards type with any topic and fee. 

How many 'Business Cards' can I add for same language?

  • Unlimited, just know what the limits are. We really recommend you, setup up more types of fee for same language and / or different 'Levels'. Our members find different topic, levels and so on. If you have more types of fee you have bigger chance you will be listed on Members search list.

How can I add more same main language with different sublanguage Business Card?

  • You need save main - sublanguage combination under the Language menu if you want add more same main language with different sublanguage fee card.

Can I add exactly a same type 'Language - Fees' but with different Business Cards?

  • Yes, but we don't recommend you add exactly the same type 'Language - Business Cards' but with different fees. Try to make change a little something on Business Card (topic, level or anything) and the Members better understand your Business Cards.

How do you accounted for Credits?

  • Credits are accounted for on a per minute basis, so that you are only paying for the time you really spent on knowledge exchange with the other person.

Why do you show fee / minutes?

  • Credits are accounted for on a per minute basis, so that you are only paying for the time you really spent on knowledge exchange with the other person.

How do you accounted for 'Credits' fees if the 'Max Person' section shows more than one person?

  • Credits are accounted for on a per minute basis / person as you show in Business Card on credit fee / minute.

What does it mean the 'Max Person' section shows more than one person?

  • The fee card owner will accept max person number call on same time.

How can I create a new Business Card?

  • Visit your 'Profile - Business Cards' section and click the 'Add Business Card' button.

    After you can setup your new Business Card.

     

If I have just one 'Language - Business Card` relation why I can`t deactivate?

  • You need at least one Business Card for every language on you saved. You can change the Business Card details or you can create any Business Cards type with any topic and fee. 

How can I write an effective title?

  • Make a clear, compelling first impression by writing a great title for your knowledge.

    Here are some elements of an effective title:

    Use descriptive keywords to clearly and accurately convey what you're know.

    You can use up to 40 characters.

    Use correct spelling.

    Don't worry about creating a grammatically correct sentence.

    Don't overuse acronyms.

    Don't use all caps.

    Write on any languages. Example: If you want give advice to French language, use French words on title, description and keywords. This part is the most important, if you want better hits in our search system.

How can I write an effective description?

  • Writing an informative description. Write on any languages. Example: If you want give advice to French language, use French words on title, description and keywords. The description is your opportunity to provide buyers with more information about your knowledge. Be sure to use complete sentences and correct spelling and grammar. Start with the most important details that buyers need first, such as additional details about your knowledge. Make the description as readable as possible.

    • Don't say anything that isn't true. 
    • Don't use all caps.
    • Don't include negative comments.
    • Don't include prohibited and restricted content. 
    • Don't include email addresses and links. 
    • Don't use item descriptions copied word-for-word from other sources.
    • Check our Terms & Privacy Policy.

How to create an effective keyword list?

  • The keywords can be used by our search engine. Write on any relevant words as connect your business card. Write word by word separate with space character. Write on any languages. Example: If you want give advice to French language, use French words on title, description and keywords.

Why I can't see immediately my uploaded video?

  • Files are being processed by youtube after upload which takes time. If your video does not show up at once, check up on it later.

    If you do not see 1 day later your uploaded video, please contact our Customer Service.

How do I delete a video?

  • Go to the "Profile" and choose the Videos section and click the "Edit" option. 

    Click on a "delete" button on a video if you want to delete your video.

    Do not forget 'Turn off edit' after you have finished.

What can't I upload?

  • Follow the Terms & Privacy Policy. You are not allowed to upload:

    • Sexual content pictures. That doesn't mean you can't be sexy in your photos, just know what the limits are.
    • Images of celebrities
    • Copyrighted material
    • More details: Terms & Privacy Policy

    If you hurt the terms you will be blocked or deleted.

    We accept JPG and PNG file format. The file size limit is 2 MB.

How can I edit a photo?

  • Go to the "Profile" and choose the Photos section. Click on a "Photo Editor" button on a picture or album.

How can I add a new friend?

  • Use the 'Peer search' and choose the right person for you and send a Peer request. If the member will accept your request you will be friend and you can start the Peer Exchange.

What does it mean 'Peer request'?

  • The 'Peer request' is a sign if you want to talk with somebody.

How can I block a peer request?

  • If you have received a peer request but you don`t want to talk with them, you can choose the 'deny' button on the members card. If you want forever block you need choose the 'block' button on the members card.

Where can I find my requests?

  • Visit your 'Profile - Friends' section and click on 'Open my received requests' button.

Where can I find my sent requests?

  • Visit your 'Profile - Friends' section and click on 'Open my sent requests' button.

How can I delete a friend?

  • Visit your 'Profile - Friends' section and click the 'Edit' button.

    Choose your friend and click the delete icon on the above - right corner.

What does it mean the "Follow" button?

  • You can save any Member profile, if you want find later easier. You find your followed member under the "Profile - Follows" section. 

Where can I find my followed Members?

  • Visit your 'Profile - Follows' section.

Where can I find my followers?

  • Visit your 'Profile - Follows' section and click on 'Open my followers' button.

How can I unfollow a Member?

  • Visit the followed members Profile page and use the 'Unfollow' button.

Why I can't see my followers profile pictures?

  • You can use this function if you are premium member. You can upgrade this function under the 'Subscription' menu.

Why I can't open my followers profile pages?

  • You can use this function if you are premium member. You can upgrade this function under the 'Subscription' menu.

Rates

What does it mean the 'Rate Categories'?

  • Communication : Do you think your partner communication was clear, understandable?

    Progression : Do you think your partner helped your progression?

    Experience : Do you think your partner has enough experience?

    Recommendation : Do you recommend your partner for others?

    The most important part the rate system: How you felt yourself? Leave couple words in the note section and help other members.

Where is my 'Missed Rates'?

  • Visit your 'Profile - Rates' section and click on 'Missed rates' button.

When will I have a new 'Rate'?

  • Every time when you start a new conversation you will have generated a new rate for you if you've spoken at least 5 minutes with another Member. 

Why important the Rate system?

  • Real opinion based on real experience, so you need to be honest when you make a rate for another member. Help another members and help the rated members for improve themselves.

Somebody leaves a "rude" comment. What should I do?

  • You need to use the report to admin button on member profile page, choose the right option and leave some notes. We will examine and modify if it necessary.

Popularity

What does it mean the 'Popularity - Level'?

  • Popularity level shows your activity on the website.
    We bring up your popularity level if,

    • you are online and available very often, this is the most important part on popularity system,
    • you have really good rates and comments,
    • you have photos and videos, and another people likes or shares, so we really recommend upload more photos and videos,
    • you send and received gift very often,
    • you have more 'language - fee' card, so we really recommend add more fee card with more topic.
    • you invite more friends and you use our affiliate system.

Why changed my Popularity - Level?

  • Popularity level shows your activity on the website.
    We bring down your popularity level if,

    • you are not online and don`t available very often, this is the most important part on popularity system,
    • you have really bad rates and comments,
    • you haven`t photos and videos, and another people don`t likes or shares, so we really recommend upload more photos and videos,
    • you don`t send and received gift very often,
    • you haven`t too much 'language - fee' card, so we really recommend add more fee card with more topic.
    • you don`t invite more friends and you don`t use our affiliate system.
